CAN'T GET THERE

You can't get there any more

Not from here
  Once you could
     But not any more

Now you'd have to start
from somewhere else . . .
from a clean town
like Omaha in the early morning
       in the rain
and the sky is grey
when it's just getting light

tires hiss and shush
and you've got your directions
in the electronic map
on the dash like a TV
that tells you the way

There's plenty of time
and hardly anybody
on the road

You got a good start then
and a good chance to get there again

if something bad don't happen
