HANDS OF ESCHER
by Jack M. Freedman
We illustrate each
other
Pinching cylindrical arteries
Bleeding India ink
Drawing from our inspiration
We dedicate these shades of flesh
To one another
For brotherhood allows us to
Reach across
Where handshakes become intimate
Where embraces will follow soon
We latch onto lines of friendship
As we place the finishing touches
Through friendly gestures of the palm
This bond will be showcased
Within our collective histories
Sketching the blueprints
For a peaceful existence
